Welcome to the Washington State National Organization for Women (WANOW). NOW has been at the forefront of the fight for women’s rights for decades. Elevating the status of women involves many, many issues, and that is why NOW is a multi-issue organization.

We strive to protect women’s reproductive rights, including the right to obtain a safe, legal abortion; we are trying to close the salary gap that still exists (women make less than $.80 to a man’s $1.00 when in similar occupations and with equal education); we work to put an end to sexual discrimination and harassment; we support equal rights for all citizens, including the right to marry. This would be the ‘short list’ of issues we act upon. Of course, NOW is a volunteer-driven organization, which means that the more active members we have, the more we can get done.
